Bill Payne

Bill Payne is one of the United States’ most decorated Angel investors.

For the June mid-year stakeholder’s night, the Massey University e-centre invited The Icehouse Entrepreneur in Residence Bill Payne to talk about funding start-up businesses.

The audience consisting of entrepreneurs, investors and Massey University academics enjoyed a short e-centre update by CEO Steve Corbett, before Bill spoke about the “food chain for entrepreneurs”.

“Bill’s sharing of his understanding and experiences with individuals who invest both money and their expertise in early stage companies was an invaluable learning for both the investors and the company CEOs at e-centre,” says Corbett.

Bill, who is one of America's most famous angel investors, has impressed the audience with his honest, straight-to-the-point approach.

” Bill held the attention of the audience because of the down to earth, pragmatic advice he gave. There really is a difference between the content of a presentation from an academic or trade official to that of the hardened, money on the line, investor. Bill’s honesty, even to the point of telling the audience to avoid angel investors and his revelations over the state of the VC industry, is unusual and of great value,” Steve Judson, CEO of SoftTech commented.
Bill Payne, who has parked himself in New Zealand until July to share his experience with New Zealand entrepreneurs and angel investors, can be contacted through Robbie Paul at The Icehouse.
