DHI Water and Environment specialises in software and services to the water industry. DHI's leading edge applications and services cover all aspects of water and the environment. The consulting services are based on the development and application of know-how and advanced technologies within ecology and environmental chemistry, water resources, hydraulic structures and hydrodynamics and other areas related to water environment.

DHI Software products are the leading tools for investigation of environmental and hydraulic systems. For more than 15 years, DHI has been the commercial pace-setter in the development of advanced water modelling software. DHI Software products have developed into a unique family of modelling tools which cover all engineering, environmental and water resources problems from rainfall through to ocean waves. DHI Software products have been applied by thousands of users solving real water problems in almost every country of the world. We also provide technical consulting services, training and technology transfer, research and development and partnering opportunities and supporting software systems across a wide range of environmental water fields.
DHI software is in widespread use in New Zealand, by city, district and regional councils, engineering consultants and water and power utilities. DHI Water and Environment was established in New Zealand in April 2004. The focus of our presence in New Zealand is the continuing technical support and training of our software users, as well as undertaking specialist consultancy services in the water resources and the urban and marine environments. With a long history of applied Research and Development programmes and innovation, DHI have selected the e-centre at Massey University in Auckland as our New Zealand base where we are seeking build relationships to local knowledge centres and market these through DHI’s global presence.
