2010 DHI Update
DHI is an independent, international consulting and research organization with the objectives to advance technological development and competence within the fields of water, environment and health. DHI offers a wide range of consulting services and leading edge technologies, software tools, environmental laboratories, and physical model test facilities as well as field surveys and monitoring programmes. DHI is designated as Collaborating Centre for the World Health Organisation, WHO, and for the United Nations Environmental Programme, UNEP, and furthermore as Advisory Centre for the Global Water Partnership and as a designated not-for-profit organisation DHI is able to invest 25% of its human resources in research and development. Today they co-operate with universities around the world and are recognised globally for our innovation and expertise.
Within New Zealand DHI is continuing to explore and develop opportunities for collaboration with Massey University academics and departments to pursue the leading edge challenges facing both New Zealand and the world as the climate changes and water and food supply and security is drawn in to debate. Recent project wins include: The development of an automated, optimised, water simulation control system for the Rangitata Diversion Race and Barrhill Chertsey Irrigation System in mid Canterbury – New Zealand largest irrigation scheme The investigation of water quality in the lower Kaituna River, Bay of Plenty, involving the development of 3 dimensional computer models representing the hydrodynamic and water quality process that will predict Algal biomass and bacterial concentrations.
