Soft Tech New Zealand is a software developer to the fenestration industry specializing in curtainwall (cladding for skyscrapers) and storefront “windows”. 85% of revenue is earned overseas, with the main contributors being Australia, Europe and the USA.

Financially, the inexorable rise of the NZ$ and the recession made 2009 a very difficult year. Strategically, however, 2009 was a year of solid progress. The emphasis was on export marketing with additional specialist sales staff employed in most territories and promotion of a new production scheduling system. Sales were made for the first time in India (to the country’s largest manufacturer of PVC frames) and South Africa.

Development work was focused upon a new release of our flagship product in 2010 to support a marketing campaign to curtainwall manufacturers, primarily in the USA. Development of BIM (Building Information Model) standards for commercial buildings around the world is providing a major opportunity for our software which we hope to exploit as we seek dominance in our niche markets.
